How to use
The areas to be restored need to be totally free from wax coatings, sealers and be cleaned
Step 1: Apply 10-15 gm Pumice Powder to 1 square metre.
Step 2: Add a small amount of water to the floor and using a polishing machine at slow speed and a fibre pad, work the powder into the stone creating a thin slurry, polishing in small, circular motions to control the slurry. Ensure the powder does not dry out.
Step 3: Keeping the movable slurry wet, continuously apply a small amount of water as needed (try to maintain a yogurt type consistency throughout)
Step 4: Depending on the type of marble, it may take 3-5 minutes to produce the honed finish required. stop to check throughout the process. This process can be repeated if necessary.
Step 5: When the required finish has been achieved, remove the slurry and rinse the area using a Stone Cleaner. Dry and Buff
Step 6: After the floor is to be left in the honed condition use a sealer to protect
The addition of marble dust powder, on the other hand, enhanced the tensile strength by 15%. By adding 15% marble dust powder to concrete, the compressive strength of the concrete was improved. For both cubes and cylinders, the optimal percentage for replacing sand with Marble waste is 15%
It was found that 10% of leftover marble dust can be added as a cement addition. The period for setting is unaffected by waste marble dust
In this study, three types of cementitious composites based on (i) white Portland cement and sand (cement-to-aggregate 1:3, and water-to-cement 0.50), (ii) white Portland cement and marble powder (cement-to-aggregate 1:2, and water-to-cement 0.60), and (iii) white Portland cement and marble powder with polycarboxylate
A fine gradation of marble used as the aggregate when recreating fine butter-joint mortars made of pure lime. It is also used to make a setting paste for setting monument blocks and mortar for true ashlar stonework
If texture and impasto are what you want in your painting, then Marble Dust is a first choice for many painter. Used as an Addition for changing the character of the Cold Wax Painting Medium to give grittiness, texture and substance. Small amounts of Marble Dust added to an Oil/Wax mixture can give texture and body.
Replacement of cement and sand with marble powder at 10% has been found to improve the mechanical and durability characteristics of concrete
Add marble dust to paint and mediums to create textural and bodying qualities without affecting the color
Marble Dust: Enhancing Venetian Plaster
Marble dust, a finely ground marble powder, is a crucial component in traditional Venetian plaster. Its addition not only enhances the plaster’s texture but also contributes to its durability and aesthetic appeal. By blending marble dust with lime and water, artisans can create a smooth, polished finish that mimics the look of natural marble.
This article explores the importance of marble dust in Venetian plaster, its benefits, and the application methods that bring out its best qualities.
